[ Being a member of a gachikoi group like B-Komachi is a fun game of little contradictions. They can sing love songs, declare their love to their fans and talk about romance but they can't ever fall in love. Playing the lovestruck heroine is strictly reserved for TV dramas and ad spots. But Ai's a greedy idol - she wants to be the lovestruck heroine in real life, too. And being the greedy idol that she is, when Ai wants something she gets it.
Not that anyone else can know, of course. But that's fine. Ai of B-Komachi can say pretty, pure and perfect just like she needs to – so long as Hoshino Ai can have this to herself. ]
Aahhh, I'm so tireddddd... [ It's like the plaintive whine of a needy cat whenever Ai comes home complaining like that – a totally unabashed demand for attention. She lets the door swing closed behind her as she steps out of those towering heels and it's only once it clicks shut behind her and they're comfortably alone that she calls out. ] Aki, I'm hooooome!
Not that anyone else can know, of course. But that's fine. Ai of B-Komachi can say pretty, pure and perfect just like she needs to – so long as Hoshino Ai can have this to herself. ]

[ Some people might think dating someone who is an idol is a difficult task, filled with jealousy, wanting to keep them out of the media, not wanting to share with the world, all of that, but it isn't like that for Aki. He understood what Ai's job was before he got into it, he recognised that it was important to her, and he put his own feelings on the matter aside.
He's sure she could say the same thing about his occupation, given how dangerous it is on a daily basis.
Aki has managed to get home before her tonight, and he's already in the kitchen to prepare something for them to eat together. The sound of her arrival brings a smile to his face, and he steps away from his work to peer around the doorway to catch sight of her. ]
Welcome home, Ai. Are you hungry?
He's sure she could say the same thing about his occupation, given how dangerous it is on a daily basis.
Aki has managed to get home before her tonight, and he's already in the kitchen to prepare something for them to eat together. The sound of her arrival brings a smile to his face, and he steps away from his work to peer around the doorway to catch sight of her. ]

[ Things have been difficult since Himeno died.
Aki knows that this is part of the job, that they risk their lives daily for the payments they receive, that eventually one of them was going to go - he just didn't expect it to be so soon, or to be the way that it did. He has pushed himself, doing everything in his power to keep his head on straight, to keep pushing, but the numb feeling of grief inside of him hasn't gone anywhere. It's not made easier by the urge to smoke, an eternal reminder of the person that started him down that road, and the knowledge of her smiles as she died.
She had been one of his best and closest friends, someone who really understood him, and Aki can't help but blame himself. He hadn't been strong enough, fast enough, determined enough to save her or protect her, and no matter how much of his life he offered up it wasn't enough. It makes him feel as though he should have been the one to die in her place, even if he knows he has the responsibility of Power and Denji to keep him anchored to his apartment and to this world.
He's allowed to wallow in grief for a little while, he's sure of that.

Burrowing his face into the pillow is easier, and his voice is muffled as he speaks.
He's making an assumption, but it's the only one he can make with his mind as foggy as it is. ]

[ It's funny – all the dramas she's acted in have made falling in love sound so big and grand and strange and she supposes in a way, they're not wrong. It's just as bright and loud and colourful as all the scripts she's read have made it sound but she thinks that something gets a little lost in all the noise that becomes clearer once there's a quieter lull. It's not exciting or glamorous in the way confessions of love or grand romantic gestures are but this, she thinks, might just be one of her favourite things – knowing that when she gets home, there'll be someone here to welcome her back.
Ai gives him a smile – it's not as bright or beaming as the sorts she wears on stage, but it's the kind of smile she only ever gives him. ]

She's not even remotely useful in here herself, but there's something cozy about hovering around in here with him while he's making dinner. ] We ended up getting a lot done today at least, so if I'm lucky, I might not need to go in for reshoots tomorrow but... jeez, the director's ruthless!

It probably takes up a lot of his time, huh. If he ends up stuck in the kitchen whenever he comes to visit her, will she end up turning into a burden for him? ]
